Empty Nest

Watercolor painting of an antique bird cage on a black table in front of my studio window. The inspiration came from the bird cage itself, a relic from an earlier time. It became a symbol for a time and place in my life, when a mother's nest is transitioning from being quite full... into an empty nest, as children grow and stretch their wings.
