June Bug

This is a little watercolor study that I painted for the sheer joy of contrasting light. The image is from a series of photos that my grandfather took at the end of the great depression. He was an artist and I always loved the light and composition of his candids. The challenge of working from photos of that era, is to incorporate color into a black and white image.
