A Whole New World

While my daughter ran the Pumpkin Run in La Grange, Texas, my grand daughter and I explored the area. I plopped her on top of a hay stack and she looked around with wide eyes as she took in sights from a new perspective. She then began telling her baby doll about what she was seeing. I've attempted to capture the moment in pastel with an illustration board treated with marble dust and acrylic paint. The rough surface enhances the perception of the texture of the hay and adds interest to the entire painting.
